My Origin Story

My coaching story starts with the ending of my first marriage.
That divorce took my self esteem and broke me in ways I was scared were permanent. Everything they say about the pain of this experience is true. It is a soul-rearranging pain that forces you to decide who you will be from then on. So I made du’aa, turned TOWARDS the pain, and went to war.
For two years I read every book I could get my hands on. I slunk around libraries, and bookstores. I downloaded the Libby app (shoutout by the way!) and always had at least two audiobooks going. I watched Ted Talks and studied YouTube videos like I would be tested on them.
Slowly, my issues started gaining identifiable names. Strategies were trialed and errored until I found regimens that worked for me. My self-esteem grew back, Alhamdulilah. Peace replaced pain. And long ignored core wounds finally began to mend.

While all this was happening, I knew I needed additional support.
Early on, I stumbled onto communities centered around building healthy relationships. The more knowledgeable I became in my studies, the more I had to contribute to discussions. And anyone who knows me knows how much I love giving unsolicited advice, so that’s exactly what I did. I would show up weekly, then daily to listen to people and teach them what I had learned. Sometimes in groups, sometimes one on one. They would apply my suggestions and come back for more advice.
Then I started getting the “Hi! So and so said that you can help me with my problem?” messages. Then more. Over the next two years, I coached probably a 1000 people in this way. Those that wanted a loving long-term relationship, learned how to find one. The ones grieving a breakup learned how to let go faster. Helping people to navigate their relationship issues in as painless a way as possible lit up my soul like nothing I’d experienced to this point. And I became very very good at my unofficial job.
Ironically…when I started looking for a spouse again…I didn’t take any of my own advice. So I languished for two years on the dating apps. After one stalker too many, I decided to actually apply the strategies I was recommending to everyone else.
Within three months, I met the love of my life. Four months after that, and we were married Alhamdulilah.

My Husband saw what coaching meant to me and encouraged me to start an actual business. And six months later…Zahra Hassan Coaching became real! Since then, I’ve been helping Muslim Women (my specialty demographic) to choose the right spouse for themselves or build peace back into the homes they’ve already established.
In fact, our mission statement at Zahra Hassan Coaching is to fully equip Muslim Women with the knowledge and resources necessary to establish and build healthy and thriving families, Bi’Iznillah. And by the Grace of Allah Subhaana Wa Ta’Alaa, we are strengthening our community one wonderful Sister at a time.
That’s my story! If you have any questions at all, always feel free to reach out!
